Denise provides true nursing care through her passion for what she does. She listens to her patients and family members. She will sit down at the bedside and talk to them at length about their condition and ways to better their situation. Denise also provides motivation to her patients. She cared for a very young girl, whose condition was unfortunate, and she was ready to give up. Denise wouldn't let her. She pushed her. Denise became her "hospital Mom" and still keeps in touch with the young girl and her family. The few times she was readmitted to our facility, the family asked for Denise by name.

Denise cares for all her patients like this. She treats them like family. She lets them know she truly cares and loves what she does. Denise is there for her fellow staff members just as she is for her patients. They know they can always count on Denise to help! If a new nurse is unsure of what to do, Denise uses that as a learning opportunity to help that new nurse grow. Denise continues to grow even though she is a seasoned nurse herself.
