I would like to nominate Cathy Prislovsky, RN in the Out Patient Department for the DAISY Award. Cathy is an excellent nurse with a lot of compassion for her patients. She always holds her patients and their care to high standards. Her priority is giving her patients the best possible care. She has a halo around her and I do mean that profoundly.

When Cathy comes into the room to set up the prep for my treatment, it is as though it is a part of her. She keeps me engaged in what she is doing so I will know what to expect. Before inserting the IV needle, she numbs the insertion site. Always talking to me in her sweet voice with her Irish accent and guess what? I don't feel a thing! She wants me to feel relaxed. She is concerned about me. She makes it a stress free environment. I have an appointment every two weeks so you know how important it is for me to know what to expect. I trust her and have a lot of admiration for her. I have confidence in her. I know she treats all her patients like she does me. She gives us all the VIP and TLC Treatment. I call this my Spa Day!!!

She is eager to learn about any new way to enhance a patient's treatment and care that will help her patient's stay in Out Patient more comfortable and pleasant. One example would be me. Magnesium Infusions are very painful, so she hooked me up to another line with a bag of saline to dilute the magnesium and I was pain free during my infusion. She took the pain and stress away! Now I am relaxed and pain free during my infusions.

She was born to be a nurse. Nursing is her God given gift and she uses it to help and serve people to the best of her ability. When you love your work likes she does, it doesn't seem like work. She is a jewel and I truly hope you will honor her with the DAISY Award for her selfless dedication and exemplary service.
