A patient's wife and one year old son had been staying with him due to the fact that they did not have a home. The baby had been staying in the hospital with his dad since he was 6 months old. His birthday was May 2. Christina took it upon herself to throw the baby a surprise birthday party since the parents were unable to do so.

Christina purchased a cake for the baby to "smash" and also bought a bouncy seat for him to play in. The patient had a great time watching the baby open his presents and eating cake. The patient had very little to look forward to since he was sick but this really made him feel good.

Christina deserves the DAISY Award because she went above and beyond to provide extraordinary care and compassion toward this patient as well as his family. This is a perfect example of great customer service and it proves that Christina is committed to excellence.
