In November, we had a patient on our unit for a couple of weeks. Ashley was his primary nurse for many of those days. I was able to witness such kindness, compassion and comfort that she provided for this patient. As his condition improved, he was able to move out of the ICU but that didn't stop Ashley from visiting on her breaks. Unfortunately, a month later he was readmitted back on our unit. Ashley was his nurse again and when he came through those ICU doors, despite his critical state, he had a smile on his face when he saw her. His son reported this was the first smile he had seen on his father's face in days. Days later the patient passed away and even though he is not still here, Ashley's hard work and compassion will always be remembered. This patient story is just one example of the exemplary care Ashley provides. She is hard working and determined to get the job done. I am proud to have Ashley on our team!
