... Jen Pawlowski, Jessica Cox, & Heather Hurt were in the parking garage getting ready to go home. They found a man in a truck that appeared to be asleep and who had also run into another parked vehicle in the parking garage getting ready to go home. The truck was still running. Jen, Jessica & Heather immediately went into action. They opened the truck door, turned off the vehicle, and assessed the gentleman. He had a pulse but he was dusky in color and had his head forward obstructing his airway. These nurses were able to perform maneuvers to open this airway and his breathing improved. They called security and 911 for assistance. The patient was eventually taken to the ER.
These nurses recognized an urgent situation and provided excellent care to this gentleman. They realize that being a nurse does not stop when you leave your unit. Nurses are caregivers, emergency responders 24/7. If Jen, Jessica & Heather would not have found this gentleman, he may not be alive today. Jen, Jessica & Heather displayed quick action and caring above all. They are truly outstanding caregivers.
