Erica embodies the spirit of unconditional, sincere compassion and caring in all her actions and words. Her attention to my concerns at each juncture of my treatment has always been through "careful listening." I never heard "canned cliché" phrases that are often verbalized by well-meaning friends. I observed Erica in the waiting room interacting with various patients. She treated each as if they were the "only person" in the room because when she speaks and listens, the person she interacts with is the only person who has her attention. She is in a class beyond most as she is assisting in my transfer back to the UK so I can work.
