I would like to recognize Matthew. His relaxed and easy going attitude is contagious. He was able to reduce my anxiety just by being himself and talking to me. His sound medical knowledge coupled with his excellent communication skills provided for a great emotional support. Logical by nature, I saw a whole lot more value in hearing facts I could easily understand regarding my progress. His dedication to his job is sensational. He was prompt to cater to my every wish and request, without separating nurse and tech duties. "I am here and at this moment I have time, so I don't mind - whatever would make you happy", he'd say as I would ask to move a pillow a little, move this cord, uncover/cover my feet or draw the curtain few inches so I could see the clock. He was even able to figure out my wants that I couldn't formulate. When I was lamenting the fact I could not relax on my couch at home with a glass of wine by offering me an ice-cream instead. I didn't realize ice-cream was an option and was ecstatic to receive it. His honesty, sincerity, and sense of humor are unparalleled. He is a Nurse with a capital letter and a treasure for the hospital to have.
