Brenda is an extremely extraordinary, compassionate and skillful nurse. I attribute much of my speedy recovery to her because she was one of my first nurses during my stay. Her attention to not only my immediate needs but also her constant communication with my doctors led to me receiving very thorough, efficient care. She always had a smile on her face, reassuring words and plenty of TLC. It was all the extra little things she did that made her stand out. She worked hard to make sure I was comfortable, telling me everything would be ok. Her attention to detail and her expertise made her a wonderful advocate for me with my doctors and ultimately led me to having cardiac bypass surgery. She shared important information with the surgical team about my past surgeries and reactions hoping to give me the best chance for a positive outcome. In addition to the amazing care she gave me, she was also there for my daughter. She explained what was going on and what could be expected and even offered up some much-needed hugs. Her job was my care, but to also provide so much comfort to my daughter was not expected or required, but so very appreciated. Both my daughter and I will remember Brenda and how she made us feel like members of her family for many years to come. She was truly a bright light for us both during a very scary time.
