I have been gone from the floor after working here for 12 years. I came back to a team that was once my side by side co-workers, but they now are managers. The floor is currently re-building staff. April has been here since I left. Upon my arrival back she is one of the strongest nurses on the floor that has a knowledge base and the skill set that can help lead the floor in its re-building process. April is very easy to work with; she knows the floor well. She moves briskly to be available for all staff when needed.
Just last week as I was charging the entire floor, April had patients. In addition to her assignment she made available to assist me on 8a without me having to ask her. She completed her work with a patient load of 5 and helped with several discharges that weren't even her direct patients. She displayed teamwork that encouraged me to try to depict her style charging. She has always been a team player and I am not sure if she has ever been recognized for it.
