My mom was hospitalized following a bout with this latest strain of influenza that has been particularly deadly. Her throat had swollen, and she was intubated to keep her airway open. She remained in this state, under sedation, in the ICU for 4 days. Tiffany Song served as her nurse for two of these days and came by her room days later when she wasn't assigned to my mom's care just to check in on her.
