My dad was in hospice care for 2 months. From day 1 when Kelly met my dad, she was amazing. She was down to earth, caring and always wanted the best for my dad. She would always make sure all meds were up to date and if we needed anything different or changed, she would make sure it would get done. She always had a smile on her face and would tell my dad that she would see him next time which my dad would always give her a "thumbs up". She was the last nurse my dad got to see before he passed away last Monday. She was so caring especially that day when she told me he had hours left. I cried on her shoulder as she gave me a big hug. She put her hand on his arm and told him that she would be the nurse to see him the next day. She was able to get one last thumbs up from my dad and was so honored that he heard her and was able to have enough strength to lift his arm. The next morning, my dad passed away with my brother and me by his side. Kelly found out that morning and called me right away to make sure I was alright and to tell me she was going to make a special trip to my house to see me that day. Around noon on Monday, she came to my house and gave me a big hug and told me that she was so glad she got to know my dad and that he was such a good guy and she was glad I could take care of him, as some families are not that lucky in the end. I will miss seeing her, but I know she is making another family happy as she did for us.
