We had a patient who had no family coming to visit, so Kathleen purchased a color page bible for our patient to have some diversion and creative outlet during this end of life period. At first, our patient was isolated, angry, and unwilling to speak with our team to help her emotionally, but with the kindness and care by Kathleen, she became open to help. The coloring bible also addressed her spiritual needs and resulted in the patient being open to support from our chaplains. The whole team supported this patient, but it was Kathleen who reached her from basic needs and response to her at her level that allowed her to trust us and effectively provide care.
