Big thumbs up to your team in the OR today looking after a patient for debridement of a sacral decubitus. The patient had clearly been neglected for some time, horrible hygiene care, etc. The OR team treated her with great dignity, cleaned her up, and Tom did some oral hygiene care on her before leaving the OR. The whole team showed great compassion and was awesome. Very proud to be associated with such caring people-just wanted you to know.

This is just one recent example of Tom going above and beyond to help a patient. Tom is the go-to nurse for many of our surgeons because of his dedication to doing things right the first time, for his attention to detail, and how well he cares for his patients. He is kind, loving, thoughtful, patient, and committed to taking great care of people who are in his room and we love him for it. Tom does the right thing when no one is looking.

I work with Tom on a daily basis and he is all of these things and more. Working in the OR, most patients and families do not remember us. We are often like a hazy dream to people, so the fact that someone recognized Tom for his work is huge.
