Laurie is the definition of a great nurse. She is so kind and caring. She brings a very calm and reassuring presence to all who she comes in contact with. She pushed me to work hard while still providing the gentle hands I required during my stay. She always took the time to explain everything in detail to both me and my family. She made sure to include me in all treatment planning, which is not something everyone takes the time to do. She is also consistently going above and beyond. I didn't have much of an appetite but had a craving for a milkshake. Not only did Laurie go in search of raspberry sorbet, one of my favorite flavors, but took the time to make me a handspun milkshake with ice cream. Even when I wasn't on Laurie's caseload, she made it a point to come in and check on me every day. She went out of her way to make sure my family and I were comfortable while in the stepdown unit. Laurie's bright and caring disposition had such a large and positive impact on a very difficult and scary time in our lives. We will be forever grateful for the amazing care Laurie provided.
