Chad has worked with us for almost 2 years. In that time, he has proven to be a compassionate and caring nurse. He is always looking for ways to connect and impact his patients' experience, whether it be providing exceptional care or providing a WOW experience. The DAISY Foundation recognizes nurses in 7 categories. One of which is the focus on patient and family-centered care. I feel Chad's greatest strength is his focus on the patient and family when delivering care. I will highlight some examples:
Chad always takes the time to connect with our patients. He takes the time to talk and find out what matters to his patients. He finds out what they like and makes a connection with that. Last month one of our patients let him know that he was an Angels Baseball fan. It happened to be that patient's birthday too. On Chad's break, he went to the gift shop and found an Angels Baseball statue and bought it for his patient. He then got the staff together and they went into the room to give the patient the gift and sing Happy Birthday to him. This patient was touched and wrote a letter of gratitude. This caring and connecting make Chad an extraordinary nurse.

The above examples are that, only a few examples of how he provides this excellent care daily. Our nursing mission is: "Thorough caring, compassion and clinical excellence, our mission is to create an environment in which patients and families can heal - body, m, nd and spirit." This could be Chad's personal mission as well. He is our DAISY!
