Dorothy cared for my dad the night he was transferred into CCU and several after that. It was a very scary experience for our entire family. She put all of us at ease with her care and compassion. She kept us informed of labs, tests, and his condition as well as everything she was doing as she was doing it. She took the time to explain things in a language that my family would understand. She went above and beyond to also make my mom comfortable as well, as she is also going through some health issues. She treated my dad as a whole and a person, not just another body in a bed. In the mornings when we would check on him, he was always bathed and shaved. I know these are normal duties, but she did them with my dad and kept his dignity intact. She took the time to get to know my dad. His likes/dislikes, what he had done during his career, about his family. She truly bonded with our family!
