Last week Amanda demonstrated exceptional nursing care to our patient T. T was the most animated I have seen her in the past few months, and I believe it is due to the level of attention Amanda provided. T responded to Amanda's patience and compassion and became more engaged as the days progressed. Amanda did more than provide medication, monitor vitals, and manage hygiene goals. Amanda went above and beyond by painting T's nails, reading storybooks, and listening to T's thoughts/feelings throughout the day. For a patient who has many medical, physical, and emotional needs, Amanda remained positive and committed to providing the highest level of care. Her work ethic and attitude positively impacted T's day. And as T has experienced many challenging days in the past, it was a relief for T to finally experience a good day again!
