I received a phone call this morning from a patient that we had on 5 Main Short Stay over the weekend. He was going on and on about this wonderful nurse he had. He continued to tell me how his grandson was getting married on the day he was to be discharged and there was a certain time frame he had to be out of the hospital so that he could make it to the wedding in time. He said that his nurse did everything in his power to ensure that everything was in order so that he could be safely discharged in a timely manner. The patient stated that this involved testing, getting results, speaking with the doctor, getting the discharge orders, etc. This patient stated that this nurse went "the extra mile" and really made him feel important and that his personal matters mattered to not only him. This nurse was Dave Bell. Thank you, Dave, the patient, and his wife were truly singing your praises!
