My son was admitted to the unit and Kristen was so extraordinary, so caring and goes out of her way to make him feel comfortable. My son has special needs and does not talk and has a rare brain malformation with DD. Not everyone is as caring, giving, and comfortable as she was. My son celebrated his 23rd birthday while in the hospital and could not eat or drink because of his medical issue. Kristen felt so bad he was sick in the hospital on his birthday and wanted to get him a cake, but since he was NPO she brought him in 2 huge helium balloons. One balloon had a smiley face with HB on it and the other was a birthday cake and a candle on it. She said if you can't eat at least he could have a birthday cake. How sweet and considerate of her to use her own money and buy this for my son. She went beyond her regular nursing duties to provide for my special needs son.
