I would like to recognize a very special person in the operating room. His name is Rueben Dallas and he is the charge RN for the operating rooms. I have known him for a while now and have been thoroughly impressed. He carries himself with respect and dignity. I have never seen him frazzled or lose his temper. Rueben is the person to approach when you need something done right now and done correctly. I have never had him ignore me or not step up to help me. He is resourceful and sedulous. His strength is being perceptive and informed of the situation at hand. I have not seen him raise his voice or treat anyone with disrespect.
Surgeons get very apprehensive before surgeries with the possible unanticipated technical aspects of the operation. The news of not having the right equipment or wrong positioning drives us crazy. This is when we reach out to Reuben and we know that he will assuage the situation.
We have amazing people in the operating rooms. Their assiduous work keeps the OR cases moving and their professionalism maintains the high quality we expect. It is my privilege to work with them.
