This unit is so special to have such a talented, caring, professional and down to earth nurse. Laura read my history, assessed me and cared for me as a patient who has been through it all, ups and downs, highs and lows, especially downs and lows. After having the most painful and hopeless day before, her kindness, caring bedside manner, professionalism, and understanding of my condition amazed me. How such a great nurse could do a 5-minute assessment and prioritize my patient needs. She had explained everything to me, answering my questions and made sure I was at ease. She filled my patient information board with my care and covering my goals and explained everything to me. She made sure the next nurse coming on had my information. One night, waking at 3:00 am in pain and upset, she took the time to sit with me, calming me with a cup of tea with such a caring and understanding outlook on my condition. Such a heart-warming talk, she said even on bad days, tomorrow will be a better day with experience of today. Taking the time to sit eye level with Laura and share everything she knew of how to care for patients and making them feel better. How lucky I am to be at Saint Peter's and have such an awesome nurse.
