Donna walked into my 82-year-old mothers' room and immediately I felt at ease. Donna introduced herself, spoke with confidence, made eye contact and bent over several times to talk to my mother who is hard of hearing. Donna's gentle yet encouraging ways were key to getting my mom to do things and understand what happened to her and how the treatment plan was going to go. Elderly patients often can be trying for nurses, they do not hear well, they move slowly, they ask for questions and answers to be repeated numerous times. Donna was amazing, her tone of voice and patience was unbelievable. She never hurried my mom. I am sure that she was busy but to my mom, it was like she was a private duty nurse. What was nice to me was on one day when I was coming in to see my mom. Nobody knew I was coming and I heard Donna talking to my mom as she did her care. It made my heart smile. I cannot say enough about Donna. She is amazing across the board.
