Covid Leadership 101
Today we gather, at least six feet apart,
More than ten in a room is just not smart;
Times are strange this much is true,
Some of us must stand in the doorway, it makes us blue.
Rushing through the airport, what's this 'Covid' they say?
A command center is in order, you knew you had to lead the way;
You gathered a team and put a plan in place,
You never lost sight, and you have done it with grace.
Masks are a must and guidelines are new,
If we must monitor our temperature, will a meat thermometer do?
Through hurricanes, snowstorms, now Covid too,
'You can't make this stuff up' has never been so true.
No matter the circumstance, your passion has always been clear,
You take time to write personal notes or to lend an ear;
But we hope you find comfort with 'virtual' church, book club and your granddaughter too,
What we really want to say is, what can WE do for YOU?
Where meetings now begin with 'please put your line on mute',
We still hear dogs and see some rooms that are really cute.
But your team will be here, we are not on a jet or a boat.
You see, we are all essential, we can't work remote.
We look forward to the day we can raise a toast and cheer,
We know we will get there, we have no fear;
We are in uncharted territory, but your leadership is beyond measure,
We appreciate your efforts and will always treasure.
So while this may be overdue,
This comes from your team...your crew;
Where a simple 'thank you' just won't do,
