Cassie is a phenomenal nurse. We were so happy to see her for the following two nights of our stay. The first night she was persistently in my room checking on me to see if I needed anything and if my pain level was under control. The next following nights she continued with the great level of patient care. She wanted to make sure I would get rest/sleep that night after Friday night's sleepless night. She also made sure my husband did the same.
The last night of her shift she was happy to see I was able to shower and have self-care during the beginning of my grieving time. Cassie made sure to be uplifting with us all weekend but was NEVER disrespectful or inappropriate. She was very understanding and gave us words of wisdom to carry on home with us. Cassie even stayed a little late her last shift morning to speak with us one last time and to remind us to take care of ourselves (showering, being sure to eat and drink) and that grieving takes a different amount of time with everyone.
One last thing I want to mention about how amazing Cassie was with us is every shift she would say "hello beautiful Amelia", though our baby was no longer with us. She took very special care of Amelia while we and our family and friends got to hold and see her.
