John has been an outstanding member of our group for several years now. He is not only a strong clinician and caregiver, but also a coworker with a positive influence on our group. I feel his commitment to quality care and improvement has gone under-recognized. Recently, John's efforts have been seen more front-and-center.
John recently spearheaded the enormous project of OR Pyxis planning and roll-out. He planned and set up the transition of over 30 anesthesia carts. He worked many days and hours, often after his shift was done, to get the carts ready. The new cart setup is meticulously thought out and organized. A well-designed cart may sound trivial, but it has a profound impact on patient safety and care. They contain every medication and life-saving equipment we use every moment in the OR. He coordinated efforts with Pharmacy, Anesthesia, Engineering, and other departments to meet the goal on-time.
Apart from this major project, John is a great Nurse Anesthetist. I would trust him to take care of my own family members. He blends compassion with excellent technical skills and kindness.
