Margi was a nurse in the pediatric department when I started working there at the front desk. She was also the lactation/breastfeeding/newborn nurse before the new newborn program was made. She was absolutely excellent with the mothers and babies! Every visit she gave 100%. She never rushed them because their time was up, she never denied a mother/baby walk-in, often using her lunch time to finish appointments or help walk-ins. I would have calls transferred to me with mothers desperately asking to speak to her for a moment for advice. She answered every call if she couldn't at that moment she would call them back as soon as she could and would really give that new mother time and all of her attention. New mothers can become frustrated and feel helpless if they cannot breastfeed their baby, if they are having trouble latching or producing milk and Margi always gave advice, recommendations, time, and patience to every mom. Even when the new program was in place many moms who had Margi with their first baby or were returning mothers with issues, wanted and asked for her by name. They didn't want to trust anyone else or explain everything over again, and she again gave her time, helped to brief the new neo-natal nurses on each case, this is even when she stepped up to the plate and became the new Lead Nurse in Peds. Her compassion and care are what really stood out to me, and I was so blown away.
