I was initially impressed at Colleen's quiet attention and support.She was a calming presence during an intense time. I got a strong sense she was available, but she was perfectly "invisible" while my wife and I worked together to maintain my wife's breath, position and focus. My heart was filled with gratitude for Colleen after a few hours when it was clear that my wife was feeling overwhelmed and overcome with discomfort. Colleen's previously gentle background support completely transformed as she suggested position changes and some therapeutic tools, and she took charge of helping my wife to move and breathe in a new way. My wife decided she needed medical pain relief, and a bit sad and apologetic about "giving up" and having medication.Colleen rose to the occasion once again, offering reassurance and showing total and complete respect for my wife's medical choice. I had the opportunity to witness the breadth of Colleen's capabilities and talents. I will always remember her ability to understand what was needed and match her skill and energy to meet that need.
