Shannon has been a godsend to my sister, who was admitted via the emergency room. My sister has uterine cancer but the night she was admitted the pain was out of control. The emergency room doctor sent her for a CT Scan but she was in such pain she was physically unable to lie flat. She was admitted to the hospital where she told Shannon the next day that she was distraught about being unable to comply with the directions of the CT Scan techs. Shannon went over and above her duty by accompanying my sister downstairs on two occasions to monitor her pain level and positioning and to try to help her have a successful scan. When that didn't work, she helped convince the doctors to do a scan as well as they were able, given the circumstances. They discovered that my sister's cancerous tumor had perforated her bowel and emergency surgery was needed. That CT scan and the resulting surgery saved her life! I can't tell you how kind and helpful Shannon has been to my sister and the entire family. She is a gem and you are blessed to have a nurse of this caliber on your staff.
