I wanted to commend Ben Kiracofe for taking awesome care of our patients. Recently, he was taking care of a patient who had just had a stroke and will likely be discharged to ARU when stable. She was very nervous about that possibility, and while Ben was doing everything he could to appease her nervousness, he had a wonderful idea that made her feel much more comfortable. He ensured that there was another nurse to watch his patients for about 30 minutes; he put her in a wheelchair and took this nervous patient and her husband on a tour of ARU! He showed her the patient rooms and the communal areas in ARU. He in no way had to do this but took it upon himself to make her feel comfortable. I feel so lucky that I get to work with Ben every day!
