Stephanie went above and beyond by ordering a bouquet of flowers for what would have been a patient's 72nd wedding anniversary. The patient seemed a bit down and explained to the nurse that if her husband was still living they would be celebrating 72 years together. This gesture brightened the patient's day. Stephanie clearly made lemonade out of lemons for this patient.

Stephanie is a relatively new nurse. She was in the Army as a medic before going into the field of nursing. She still serves in the Army but in the Reserves capacity now that she is a full-time civilian nurse. She took to nursing like a duck to water in a large part because of her medic background. Her time management, critical thinking, decision making, and attitude are all very fine tuned skills she has spent years perfecting before even entering nursing. Now in the civilian world, she manages great demands and high acuity with compassion, care, focus, and grace.
She is always eager and willing to help her team and she is one of the people on the PCU team that I feel truly understands what team means. Stephanie provides a high quality of work, devotion to her patients, and the genuine desire to offer the very best of herself to this profession and to her patients.
