One day Sarah and I had several patients, census was crazy and we were doing everything we could for all of our patients. Sarah pitched in and helped me do PCT tasks as well as her RN tasks. I noticed that something wasn't right with one of our patients and notified Sarah of my findings. Sarah went in and assessed the patient even though the vital signs were stable. A short time later the patient had a rapid response called on him. Sarah was amazing, she held strong and helped the patient and kept the family well informed. What touched me the most was while she was talking to the patient and trying to comfort him in the midst of all the chaos, I heard her ask him if he was a religious man. He said yes, and asked if she would pray with him. In the midst of all the noise and chaos of trying to get him stable, she got down to his level and held his hand and prayed for him. He found comfort in this. Sarah went above and beyond not only for her patients but her PCTs as well. She does this every day and is truly an amazing nurse.
