Soon after being admitted to Center for Mental Health, a patient became quite irritable, agitated and angry. Throughout the evening and into the night, he persisted that he had to leave. Julie spent an extended amount of time with the patient trying to calm him. She found out he was worried because he knew he would not be going home soon, and his cat was home alone. The patient did not have any family or friends to help care for his cat while he was hospitalized, so he was afraid she would die. Julie helped calm the patient's worries by stopping daily at his home to feed the cat and clean her litter box. Julie cared for the patient's beloved pet every day for two weeks. She also provided cat food and supplies when they ran low. Julie is caring, compassionate and goes more than the extra mile.
