Kealy is a night lead for the pediatric unit and every time I have worked with her, she goes above and beyond for the nurses and the patients. She shows respect for all patients, families, and co-workers. She never shows any sign of stress and everyone feels comfortable going to her for help. Kealy also does not put anyone down or make them feel stupid for a question asked. She empowers all nurses so that we can do a good job caring for our kids, even when understaffed. I have personally seen Kealy be the first to jump up when a pump beeps, call light goes off, or to comfort a kid who is alone and crying with no parents there. There have been times when Kealy is lead, has 4 patients of her own (a full work assignment for pediatrics), but still was available to help all of the nurses do the impossible of getting everything done before shift change. She is by far the best lead I have ever had. Kealy has experience and knowledge way beyond her years. She is one of the reasons I stayed on as a travel nurse on this unit for 10 months, I knew I would always have help to do my job if needed and she was an absolute joy to work with. Kealy shows amazing leadership and I think she will continue to do great things for Nebraska Medicine. She truly provides the best care to every patient, every time, and every day she works.
