Brittany cared for a patient who was DNR. Right after her shift started her patient's condition began to decline rapidly. She spoke with the family and they drove to come be with their son. Once Dad arrived, Brittany offered to move them to another room for more privacy. The patient was moved and shortly after he passed away. Brittany demonstrated caring, compassionate, sympathetic and kind behaviors. She sat in the room and cried with the family. She helped perform post-mortem care. When the family decided to leave she promised them she wouldn't leave his side until he was taken to the morgue. She sat and held the deceased patient until the nursing supervisor was able to meet her in the basement. She went above and beyond to ensure she would be there and do everything the family needed from her.

Brittany has done everything possible to keep our child comfortable during a rough day. She showed concern for him and was always there to help. She always had a smile on her face and kept saying positive things to reassure us as parents.
