My husband was admitted close to midnight after being sent to the ED for a possible blood clot and undiagnosed fever. Sangita was on duty early in the stay and was as attentive to me as she was my husband. She requested that the attending okay a flu swab when his symptoms got worse. She was direct about the times that the Oncology team doctors would make their rounds. I was amazed to find out she has only been a nurse for about a year. She shared her personal story with me and then I truly could understand the source of her compassion.
***
Sangita touched my mom's heart while compassionately caring for her. This was my mom's first hospitalization and she was terrified, angry, and confused that this was all happening to her. Sangita was able to calm her nerves as well as my families. She educated my mom and my family without it feeling like a lecture. She cared for her without being overbearing and never, ever judged. Sangita is an angel who was sent to our family and I will be forever grateful for her.
