I would like to give my highest and most sincere thanks to a Nurse named Clay in the ICU. Clay was my sister's nurse on day shift. My sister, was in Clay's care for two days at the end of her life. During her entire stay, Clay answered our questions, consoled our family and stayed for several hours after his shift was over to be with us as my sister lay dying. He was there with us until the end.
I was impressed by Clay's compassion and grace, and his genuine concern for my sister's comfort. In every contact my family had with Clay, he was open and honest, and helped us cope with the reality before us.
I have been in Human Resources since 1980 and rarely have I seen anyone go so far and beyond the call of duty. I hope this email gets to someone who can do something very nice for Clay as I head back home. He is truly someone I will remember whenever I think of my sister. God Bless Clay and the staff of the Kootenai Medical center ICU.
