My husband and I received the devastating news that our baby boy we were expecting at 17 weeks gestation no longer had a heartbeat. We were admitted to induce labor and deliver our son who passed. We were horrified and terrified for the unknown. Michele Dietzman, our nurse, greeted us in the lobby with an embrace. We were so lost and grieving and Michele was our angel that night. She stayed with us the whole night. Anything we needed big or small she made it happen. We felt as though she was not treating us like patients but like family members. Through talking with her I learned that she had gone through some late miscarriages too. She truly understood what we were going through, and this gave us some comfort. I'll never forget her words of comfort when she said, "Our boys are up in heaven now playing together." Three months after the loss I became pregnant again. At 16 weeks gestation, our nightmare strikes again. The heartbeat could not be found on our baby girl. We had to go through this all over again seven months removed from losing our son. We knew we needed Michele to help us through this again. To our luck, Michele was scheduled that night! After asking if she would be with us, without hesitation, Michele was there. Michele went above and beyond for us again, including staying with us the whole night, talking with us, making sure that pain was manageable and most importantly treating us like family. Nobody should ever have to go through these experiences, I never thought I'd be part of something like this, and looking back I don't know how we would have made it through without Michele.
