I had my bladder removed due to cancer and I was discharged after 4 days to Mercy Home Health. My nurse was Amy Donnelly. I found Amy to be thorough, compassionate and informative. I developed a wound that would not heal and Amy treated my wound thoroughly. She kept in touch with the surgeon and, in fact, she was the reason for a follow-up visit. She kept calling the surgeon and thought I should be seen. I was seen and they found I had two different infections, which were treated with antibiotics. After 2 months of diligent care, my incision finally closed. All the while Amy was treating me she was teaching my wife and me how to take care of my stoma and change the appliances. When my wound was healed and my wife and I were on our own we felt like we had been given great instructions on how to take care of this life-changing new way to live. I appreciate all she did for me!
