I rarely make posts about my work experience, but I feel like sharing this. My patient, in his 40s, brain hemorrhage from hypertension. As we were making end of life decisions, the family realized there was no way they make it to his bedside in time. They were out of state, with road closures and closed gas stations it was impossible. They just wanted to see their dad one last time, so I used my phone and Facetimed them. I held it to my patient as his 4 children cried and made their amends to him and prayed for him. It was so sad. I cried on my way home. We will all be forever changed in some way by this pandemic.
