Recently, I went to the women's hospital for a scheduled C-section. I delivered my son in the afternoon. It was a rough delivery due to a lot of scar tissue from two prior sections. My baby had a hard time coming out as well, he ended up having to go through my placenta. He took in fluid and was having a tough start. To add to the rough start a little over 24 hours old he stopped eating and starting becoming very ill. Megan paid special attention to what we were telling her. She put in a call to the doctor that was on. She got an X-ray ordered and without that order, we wouldn't have known what was happening. He ended up going to the NICU and being transferred to another facility. As my nurse, she really went above and beyond taking care of us. She made sure I had everything I needed, physically and emotionally. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have been able to handle everything happening. Between hormones and fear I was a mess, she was able to keep me calm and support me in ways I didn't know I needed at the time. I think she needs to be recognized for all of her hard work. She most definitely went above and beyond what the "job" of a nurse is.
