Angie Moothart, Detroit Lakes Clinic has gone above beyond her call of duty as a nurse. She has helped me (Plastic Surgery) to receive the utmost in excellent care. We have effectively worked together devising a plan with the VA, which is not always an easy healthcare system to work with. She sent pictures of the process to this writer and resumed care so the patient did not have to drive 90 miles to get a dressing done. He had SCC of the right finger and was not able to do his daily dressing changes that the doctor ordered. The patient presented himself to the Detroit lakes ER and then to the clinic because of his inability to care for his hand. Angie and her team graciously took him in like he was their family and provided kindness and caring for this man. This warms my heart that there are these RNs at Sanford that devote this much time to a patient. We all know all the RNs are very busy in clinics especially Health Coaches. The management of Detroit lakes Clinic was very involved because I was on speaker sometimes talking to her. Our patient received all-around five-star service. I am very proud to work for such an amazing organization that would go the extra mile for not only our Veterans but also any patient that they provide services. I cannot imagine where he would be in this process if I did not have an amazing partnership with Detroit Lakes Clinic's Health Coach, Angie. I firmly believe we would not be doing Stage II (applying a skin graft) so quickly but nursing a wound from a patient that is also immune suppressed.
