My daughter and I came to the hospital happy as ever. My child was having her first child which was a girl. We laughed and talked about how we would play with her and spoil her while waiting in the observation room. The nurses came in and out of the room checking the monitor because it kept beeping. My baby didn't think much of it. But, my mother's intuition kicked in and knew something wasn't normal. The doctor arrived and sent us for an ultrasound and we found out that my granddaughter was not head down and they would have to do a C-section. Oh my God! I was terrified. I didn't share this with my daughter. I just assured her that she and the baby would be just fine. God answered my prayers and they were just fine.
After recovery, we arrived on the best floor with the best staff. But one stood out. Our own little angel that we called Ms. Kim. Ms. Kim came into our room and gave us so much understanding about the surgery, what to expect. She answered all of our questions. Ms. Kim was so informative. We do know that you have to be special to work in healthcare because I work in the field as well. I'm never impressed when I visit other hospitals in the area, but Ms. Kim changed that form me. She was personable. I told her what the baby was going to call me and she remembered the whole time. She even called me G.G. Ms. Kim asked if we had been to the cafeteria to eat. Not only did she take good care of my daughter and her baby but she made sure that I was OK and asked me if I needed anything to make me more comfortable like pillows or towels. She assured me that mom and baby would be OK and I believed her because I had seen first hand the kind of work she does. Thank you, Ms. Kim. You will always be remembered in our lives and as soon as my grandbaby is old enough she will know all about you too. Thank you!
