In the four years I've worked with Val I've gotten to see what a great nurse and person she is. Val goes above and beyond for her patients. To ordering food trays to fit the cultural and dietary needs for an outpatient, when we don't even get food trays, to personally transporting patients who are elderly and need help getting to and in their cars. She is a constant pillar of support and knowledge for the other employees of our department. During Christmas/nurse's week/and other occasions she has provided homemade gifts to the other employees. Side note she makes the best cheesecake you'll ever have. She encompasses all of Ochsner's core values, and everything The DAISY Award represents plus more.
