We brought our little girl into the world and straight into the NICU. Our world felt upside-down for the first 24 hours just trying to figure out what was happening to our little girl. All of our nurses were fantastic, but Kristina went above and beyond to make us feel at home while in the NICU. When you are sitting there with your sick baby listening to all the monitors go off, your mind just goes crazy. Kristina assured us every day that our little girl was getting the best care possible. She paid attention to my husband and me when we needed reassurance and comfort. She would listen to us talk about our life and family to help distract us from constantly worrying about our sick baby, even if just for a short time. She respected our relationship with Jesus and without being asked played praise or worship music softly while our little girl slept. Nothing, and I mean nothing, was a better feeling at that moment. The compassion Kristina showed while working with our daughter gave me absolute assurance that she was doing absolutely everything she could to care for her. I have said many times that it takes a special person to work with NICU babies and Kristina is just that. I truly believe God blessed us with Kristina as our day nurse and we are truly grateful for everything that she did. Kristina, please know that you are a gift from God to every NICU baby you work with and we are so thankful and blessed to have had you as our nurse.
