Upon arrival to the TICU, my mother had Gallia as her nurse. I had traveled from out of state and arrived at the hospital later that evening with my 3-year-old toddler and father. Gallia ensured that we were able to bring my toddler to visit knowing that my mother specifically requested a visit from her granddaughter. Once we had arrived, my mother was not doing well. She was very nauseated and altered. Gallia has stayed at the bedside during continuous neuro-checks and providing top-notch care. The emotional stress of watching a loved one suffer was taking a toll on me. Gallia made sure to take the time to comfort and support me as a family member and made me feel at ease in a very stressful situation. The following day Gallia was working but not my mother's primary nurse. She came by to visit and check on my mother, play with my daughter, and update my mother's current nurse on the specifics of her care from the day before. She was the by far the shining star of our experience at INOVA FFX hospital and her dedication and compassion for her patients and their family members deserves to be celebrated and acknowledged. From one nurse to another, Gallia, I can't say enough about how grateful my family and I are for your exceptional care and compassion. You are a true blessing to the organization.
