Tracy was nominated for taking quick actions and having a calming presence during a scary situation for a pair of new parents.
The couple arrived at the hospital and the man rushed from the parking lot asking someone to help him because his partner had just given birth in their car.
"Tracy leaped into action and rushed to the side of the newborn and mother," a colleague wrote in a nomination letter. "She assessed the situation and crouched on the ground next to the car, swaddling and holding onto the baby so he did not hit the ground."
Tracy did not move from her position until the Labor & Delivery team arrived to assist the small family. She just kept checking that the baby was breathing and worked to calm and comfort the parents.
"They were visibly concerned, but Tracy's quick actions put them at ease in a very terrifying moment," her colleague wrote.
