Kathy assisted a patient in the dying process in February. She provided comfort as she visited him on her day off. The patient requested staff to notify her during his admission. She arrived and brought him breakfast and his favorite coffee. The patient was so happy to see her! Kathy contacted the patient's son and had lunch with his son on her day off to support the patient during his time of need and to assist the son during this difficult time. Then she attended the patient's funeral. These acts express the kindness and compassion Kathy has for her patients. Her efforts are stellar!! Thank you, Kathy!!

I had a recent stay in the special care unit. I became very ill and was admitted from the ER. Once upstairs Kathy treated me very kindly. She showed amazing patient care. She was there anytime I needed her, she explained everything that was going to happen. I was very happy to have her as my nurse. I am very fortunate this hospital is here and that my family did not have to travel to visit. I would like to recognize Kathy Landis. She was meant to be a nurse! Thank you for making my stay as smooth as possible. I am forever grateful.

Kathy, you always treat each patient as if they were your own family member, you open your heart and your home to be able to provide them what they need. Your compassion is seen daily as you provide continuous care within the hospital staff to the needs at home. The nominations are just a glimpse of what you do every day.
