Being a nurse and having a mother dying of cancer is the hardest thing I have ever experienced in my life. My mother was my best friend and cancer took her life way too early. It also isn't easy having her die in the hospital where I work.
The night before she passed, Jessica was her nurse. It's also not easy to care for coworkers' family members. Jessica took amazing care of my mother. She took control of the situation and allowed me to be her daughter for the first time since her diagnosis. That is the greatest gift she could have given me. She went above and beyond her nursing duties to care for a heartbroken daughter.
