In one the most stressful months that many of us have experienced in our nursing careers, it was most refreshing to see such a shining light that Sara displayed on a recent Saturday night. Due to COVID-19 regulations patients are often alone without their families. On this night Sara went above and beyond with a patient in his end of life care. Sara stayed bedside and held his hand as he passed away and made sure that the family could be virtually present given the circumstances. She was able to give the family the gift of singing Amazing Grace to the patient as he passed. We need more nurses like this who are willing to go the extra step to give patients and families comfort during these difficult times. We read her final note on this patient, when we all stopped crying, we thought what a wonderful human being she is! Sara is a true DAISY Nurse.
