Danielle was charge nurse and was caring for a behavioral health patient this past winter. The patient and their significant other were both homeless. The patient was placed at an inpatient facility and this nurse went above and beyond helping the patient's significant other to find a place to stay. She looked up local shelters and contacted each one to see if they had availability for the patient's significant other. The patient's significant other returned the next shift as an ED patient. Danielle again went out of her way to help contact the patient's family that was living out of state to assist the patient. She did a great job and the patient was able to get into a local shelter. The patient was extremely grateful and had a positive outcome due to Danielle's hard work and dedication to her job as a caregiver.
